Mr. Hassan Mughnee was appointed to the position of Deputy Managing Director of MTCC on 21^st December 2023. He was appointed as an Executive Director of the Board on 8^th February 2024.

 

Mr. Mughnee is an experienced professional and his extensive executive experience includes notable roles such as Chief Operating Officer of MTCC from 2013 to 2014 and the Managing Director of STELCO on 2014 and from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, he has also contributed to various government and independent commissions in the Maldives holding positions such as Minister of State at Ministry of Environment, Climate change and Technology, Director General for National Integrity Commission, Election Commission, and Customs Integrity Commission.

 

He also worked as a director for a private consultancy firm called Busy Bee Consultancy & Trainings. Additionally, he also served at MWSC and Island Beverages Maldives as the head of Marketing, Head of Sales and Customer Service from 2005 to 2012.

 

Mr. Mughnee is academically accomplished and is a Fulbright Scholar who holds a Master of Business Administration (Major in International Business – Finance and Economics) from Brandies International Business School of USA, Massachusetts. He has also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management & Marketing from Upper Iowa University, Iowa, USA. He is also the proud recipient of the ACES Award, where he was acclaimed as Asia’s Most Inspiring Executive of 2021 in Singapore.
