Mr. Abdulla Ziyad was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and as an Executive Director of the Board on 28th November 2023. Mr. Ziyad brings over 23 years of extensive experience in Civil Engineering And Project Management.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of MTCC, Mr. Ziyad has held key positions such as Minister of State at Ministry of Housing & Infrastructure from 2012 to 2014, Minister of State at Ministry of Environment & Energy from 2014 to 2018. He also served as the Executive Director for Islamic Development Bank Group during the first half of 2016. Notable projects in his portfolio include managing the Fuvahmulah Coastal Protection project, overseeing the construction of Alia Residence, and managing the Thilafushi Reclamation Project.
Mr. Ziyad holds a Master’s in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Honors Distinction from the prestigious University of Bahrain. Mr. Ziyad is a registered Civil Engineer and a veteran member of the Association of Civil Engineers in the Maldives.
