Work on L. Maabaidhoo Harbour New Channel is well underway, with overall 79% project progress. The closing of the existing harbour channel and dredging of new entrance channel works are complete. Breakwater construction works for the project is currently ongoing, with 63% completion.
We also commenced casting of bridge slab work needed for the project. Work on the project is expected to be completed during the first week of August, 2020. The L. Maabaidhoo Harbour New Channel project consists of channel dredging operations of 17،503.96 cbm.
It also includes construction of a 253m breakwater; a 19m sub merge breakwater; 83m revetment, bridge construction and beacon installation. The estimated value of the project is MVR 16.4 million. The project was mobilized on 2nd November 2019.
