About This Project

Design and Build of HDh. Nellaidhoo Harbor Upgrade project was handed over to MTCC by Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 27th August 2019.

Work on Design and Build of Hdh. Nellaidhoo Harbour is well underway, with overall 50% project progress. We have completed installation of precast concrete blocks required for the construction of quay wall. Quay wall concrete works and capping beam works are currently ongoing.

Scope of the project includes

• Dredging new harbor basin of 22,860cbm
• Maintenance dredging 10,294cbm
• Development of 164m Breakwater
• Existing breakwater height increase 98m
• Removal of existing breakwater 10m, Groynes 125m, Quay wall 224m
• Pavement 2,102sqm
• Construction of 11m x 11m ramp
• Installation of navigation lights
• Installation of two arm streetlights and Mooring buoys 

EIA of the project was approved on 17th February 2020 

The MVR 47,623,290.28 project is estimated to be completed within 365 days.
