‘Niyaama 6’ ferry, which last operated in Meemu Atoll, is now docked at MTCC boatyard for ongoing repairs. The vessel is docked to make minor engine services, to clear out marine fouling and bio-fouling from the hull and re-new anti fouling of the vessel.
We schedule regular repair and maintenance of ferries in our Comprehensive Transport Network (CTN) as part of the bid to improve our service in the atolls. We currently operate both intra and inter atoll ferry services to 18 atolls.
