2020

  • MTCC completed 36 Construction, Dredging and Reclamation projects during the year.
  • A total of 14 projects were awarded to MTCC in 2020.
  • Completed the construction of Maavarulu Airport.
  • MTCC became an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certified Company.
  • MTCC won the Dockyard/Slipway of the Year 2019 award.
  • MTCC celebrated changing of the crew of Mahaa Jarraafu to an all-Maldivian crew.
  • Public Ferry service inaugurated for F and Dh atoll.
  • Completed Hoarafushi Airport project and inaugurated the airport. This was the first airport project completed in the shortest timespan.
  • Conducted Maabodahves Agu Heyo Vejje Campaign to aware the customers regarding the price deduction in several marine products.
  • Conducted Ehelumah Luyeh Campaign to promote MTCC Boatyard and its’ services to the customers upon reopening the boatyard after Covid-19 lockdown.
  • MTCC took part in Business Expo 2020 and Maldives Marine Expo 2020 – Virtual Edition.
  • Held an art competition for the students of Jewel Centre at Imaduddin School to create artworks depicting MTCC’s role in developing the nation, and selected top 12 artworks, which was showcased on MTCC’s Calendar 2021.
  • MTCC held its first virtual AGM in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
  • MTCC celebrated 40 years of service in 2020.
  • First in-house TV program was developed to celebrate 40th Anniversary as “Kaamiyaabu 40”.
  • Launched MTCC’s official song “Mee Rayyithunge Kunfuni” on the day of the anniversary.
  • His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially launched MTCC’s History Book on the occasion of the 40th anniversary.

2019

  • MTCC contracted to undertake 33 harbor projects in 2019
  • A total of 70 projects awarded to MTCC in 2019
  • High Speed ferry service inaugurated in Ha. And HDh. Atolls by Vice President Faisal Naseem
  • Zone 4 (F, M and Dh Atoll) Ferry service inaugurated adding up to a total of 47 routes nationwide in 16 atolls.
  • Company-wide customer service campaign “Hinithunvumaaeku” held in October 2019 to celebrate world customer service week.
  • Reclamation component completed for Hoarafushi Airport construction project with 345,500 sqm being reclaimed.
  • MTCC contracted for the reclamation of three islands in Kaafu Atoll by a Thailand hospitality management and holding company, Centara Hotels and Resorts.
  • Foundation for Hiyaa Housing Project completed in July of 2019.
  • 3 Yanmar Service campaigns carried out in various islands, where Yanmar Singapore teams conduct surveys of boats of customers who are using Yanmar engines as well as awareness sessions to show the importance of using genuine spare parts for these engines and giving out genuine spare parts.

2018

  • MTCC Launched Hunavaru Apprenticeship Program enabling interested secondary school graduates to adhere skills required for jobs at MTCC by providing learning opportunities to fill in the skill gaps within the employment market.
  • MTCC signs with Al Shaali Marine as their preferred engine supplier, under which Suzuki outboard and Yanmar inboard engines will be given priority by boats built by Al Shaali Marine.
  • MTCC was contracted to redevelop Artificial Beach of Male with a modern and functional concept.
  • MTCC Launched Hiyaa Housing Project and Staff Housing Scheme in 2018.

2017

  • Commencement of the central bus service in Hulhumale', linking Neigbourhood 1 and Neighbourhood 2 of Hulhumale' City.
  • Moved the Villingili ferry operations to a new and improved terminal building to develop the old terminal building.
    2 additional coach buses were brought into service towards enhancement of shuttle service between Velana International Airport and Hulhumale'.
  • A total of 3 vans and 1 car added to the private hire fleet towards enhancement of private hire service.
  • An additional vessel was brought in to enhance Premium Link ferry services.
  • An additional speedboat was added to the fleet to enhance Hulhumale' Express Service.
  • The assembling of the boat hoist was completed and the services of the boat hoist and MTCC boat yard were opened to external customers.
  • A total of 155 vessels were serviced at MTCC boat yard through out the year. Commencement of under water welding services.
  • A total of 110, 400 rock boulders were delivered to MTCC project sites through out the Maldives during the year through our logistical operations.
  • Two additional vessels, a spud barge ``Mula`` and Tug Boat ``Tango 9`` were brought into our logistical operations fleet.
  • MTCC's trailing suction hopper dredger ``Mahaa Jarraafu`` arrived in Maldives and was officially inaugurated by HEP Yameen Abdul Gayyoom at a special event held at Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi.
  • The first dredging & reclamation project using the ``Mahaa Jarraafu`` was the reclamation of land for the development of Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi Airport and the work commencement was inaugurated by HEP Yameen Abdul Gayyoom.
  • A total of 5 dredging and reclamation projects were awarded to MTCC and completed during the year.
  • MTCC proposed Rights Issue in 2017 which gave the shareholders an option to transfer or sell their rights during the Rights Issue period and gave the current shareholders the opportunity to buy shares at a discounted price of MVR 62 per share.
  • MTCC Launched its first HR Awards to appreciate and recognize staff performance. This ceremony awarded recognition to staff for long years of service and who were retiring in 2017. It also officially awarded the scholarships to staff under the Human Resource Development Program.

2016

  • Commenced Premium Link ferry services between Male' and Hulhumale' Linked the islands in Zone 1 (Atolls Ha, Hdh, Sh), Zone 2 (Atolls N,R,B), Zone 3 (Atolls K, AA, ADh, V), Zone 5(Atolls Th, L) and Zone 6 (Atolls Ga, Gdh) through an intergrated transport network.
  • The Islamic financing scheme, Tamwil Taksit was continued throughout 2016.
  • Established an outlet of Kashavaru at Thilafushi to make the products easily accessible to customers based in Thilafushi.
  • Invested in a boat hoist with a 200 tonne lifting capacity and work on the assembling of the boat hoist commenced late 2016.
  • A total of 112 vessels were serviced by our Engineering and Docking Service department established in Thilafushi.

A total of 71, 400 rock boulders were delivered to MTCC project sites through out the Maldives during the year through our logistical operations.

2015

 

  • Introduction of shuttle bus service between Ibrahim Nasir international Airport and Hulhumale’ A total of 4 bus with a passenger capacity of 45 each was brought into service towards bus service enhancement.
  • A double decker ferry of 204 passenger capacity was brought to service to cater the growing demand of Male' - Hulhumale' ferry service.
  • Linked the islands Thaa atoll and Laamu (zone 5) atoll through an integrated transport service network. Launched “Odiverinnah Hallu yageen” – provided our customer with the option of purchasing Yanmar and Suzuki engines through a long term Islamic financed payment scheme.
  • Appointment of MTCC’s certified engineers and sales agents across most of the atolls in Maldives. Introduced a Yanmar 60HP (Y4U60) engine targeted for small vessels.
  • Completed 26 construction related projects.
  • Awarded 41 construction related projects.
  • Gifting a musical fountain to the citizens of Maldives on the occasion of 50th Independence Day of Maldives.

 

2014

 

  • Became a second level distributorship of Caterpillar Heavy Equipment.
  • Commenced bus services to Neighbourhood 2 in Hulhumale'.
  • Established a seperate counter at Fennaa Gimatha for passengers carrying vehicles on board.
  • Introduction of Suzuki model DF300AP to the Maldivian market

  • Introduced Volvo City Bus to Improve Hulhumale’ bus services.
  • Ventured into electrification works with the Electrification Project of Kolhufushi, Meemu Atoll.
  • Introduced automated fare collection system for Hulhumale ferry service.
  • Launched ‘Dhathuru Card’ for Hulhumale Ferry Services

  • Paved a 7200 sqm runway at Thimarafushi Airport.
  • Extended ferry services portfolio with Gulhifalhu ferry services

  • Launched Hulhumale’ Express, high-speed transport service between Hulhumale’ and Male’

  • Established a concrete testing lab.
  • Replaced the use of traditional sand bag quay walls with modern precast concrete panels.
  • Inaugurated “ Integrated Transport Networks” with the objective of linking the entire Maldives with a well-organized transport network.

  • Ventured into heavy cargo logistics with the acquisition of a 3500 ton barge with supporting tug.
  • Established Hulhumale Ferry Terminal for commuters travelling between Male’ and Hulhumale’

  • Extended ferry services portfolio with the addition of Thilafushi Ferry services.

  • Became a partner in Hulhumale’ Phase 1 Housing Project.
  • Extended asphalt works expertise through construction of 2km road in Gn.Fuvahmulah

  • Ventured into public ferry services with the commencement of Male’ Villingili ferry services.
  • Became a joint-venture partner with Dredging International and International Port Engineering and Management for Hulhumale’ Phase 1.
  • Launched employ club - “Team MTCC”. Ventured into asphalt paving works with the Hanimaadho Airport Runway Resurfacing Project.
