Dredging & Reclamation

Dredging and reclamation is one of the Company’s core activities. Starting in 1995 with just a few excavators, today we own the largest dredging fleet in the country. Combined with our multi-talented team of experienced professionals specializing in various aspects of the process, we now possess the capacity to complete and deliver the most challenging dredging and reclamation projects to the satisfaction of our customers via innovative and cutting-edge solutions. We continue to add to our fleet, investing in equipment and skills training to maximize our capacity. Our current dredging capacity stands at 38,000 cubic meters per day, supported by a fleet comprising one hopper dredger and five cutter dredgers.

Airports Construction

Over recent years, airport development has become a key focus of MTCC's construction portfolio, enhancing the Maldives' connectivity. MTCC specializes in building essential airport facilities, including runways, taxiways, and aprons, with a focus on safety, quality, and architectural excellence. Key completed projects include Sh. Funadhoo, Gdh. Maavarulu, Ha. Hoarafushi, and Gdh. Faresmaathoda airports. Current projects on R. Alifushi, M. Muli, and F. Magoodhoo aim to further expand regional accessibility and support local economies.

Harbor Construction

Harbor development has been one of our core activities since the inception of MTCC. Given the unique geography of the Maldives, safe harbors are essential for transportation services across the islands. Over the years, we have honed our expertise in harbor construction and repair, positioning MTCC as the leading provider of these services. Our success is driven by a highly skilled and experienced team, supported by state-of-the-art equipment. We operate our own precast yard for producing all necessary harbor blocks and specialize in sheet piling and revetment profiling. Additionally, our design team is dedicated to researching innovative solutions that minimize shoreline disruption, as demonstrated by the harbors we constructed at B. Fehendhoo and Adh. Mandhoo.

Shore Protection

MTCC is the leading contractor for shore protection in the Maldives, with over 20 years of experience pioneering solutions for the country’s vulnerable coastlines. Erosion, a natural environmental phenomenon, has severely impacted shorelines, disrupted daily life for citizens, and posed challenges to the tourism industry. As the first contractor to introduce rock boulder breakwaters, geobag revetments, and L-section concrete quay walls in the Maldives, MTCC provides effective solutions to safeguard communities and infrastructure. Our focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation ensures that we continue to protect the nation's shores with the most reliable and advanced methods available.

Road Construction

MTCC has built a strong portfolio in road construction across various islands projects, becoming one of the top road development contractors in the Maldives. Our largest project to date, the Fuvahmulah Internal Road Project, involved the development of 31 roads spanning a total length of 15,932 meters. This project included advanced stormwater drainage systems and multiple pump stations, which have significantly reduced flooding on the island. Other key projects, including those in Hulhumeedhoo, Eydhafushi, and the completion of the Gn. Fuvahmulah Ring Road in 2020, have further strengthened local infrastructure. With years of experience and continuous improvement in road development, MTCC confidently delivers high-quality solutions that meet client expectations and contribute to connecting communities across the Maldives.

Water & Sewerage

As one of the country’s largest partners in infrastructure development, MTCC has implemented water and sewerage systems across numerous islands. Due to the geographically dispersed nature of the Maldives, each island requires a separate water and sewerage system to ensure proper sanitation and access to clean water. To address this challenge, MTCC ventured into this sector two decades ago. We have made significant investments to enhance our capabilities by producing the necessary machinery and acquiring the expertise to deliver the highest quality services in this field. This commitment has enabled us to play a vital role in the country’s efforts to provide clean water and sewerage infrastructure to all inhabited islands.

Survey & Design

With over 15 years of experience in the field of survey and design, our team of qualified professionals leverages a comprehensive range of the latest surveying tools to deliver the most accurate and reliable data. Backed by a vast knowledge pool within the company, our multidisciplinary team; comprising project management experts, architects, civil engineers, environmental engineers, road engineers, and bridge engineers, collaborates to create innovative and aesthetically appealing designs tailored to diverse engineering and construction needs across various environments.
